Digital Dining’s application review was deemed successful and a compliant report was submitted by leading third-party assessor, AmbironTrustWave and validated by Visa USA

This set of best practices helps merchants of all sizes and types to protect the consumer card holder data they store, process and transmit. This diligence in inherent in the PABP benchmark, and along the payment chain, means consumers are safeguarded from theft and fraud. The PABP covers a set of 13 requirements that every POS application developer should follow to maintain a high level of security within their applications. Visa USA’s PABP standards:

  • Do not retain full magnetic stripe or CVV2 data

  • Protect stored data

  • Provide secure password features

  • Log application activity

  • Develop secure applications

  • Protect wireless transmissions

  • Test applications to address vulnerabilities

  • Facilitate secure network implementation

  • For Internet-based applications, store cardholder data in internal network only

  • Facilitate secure remote software updates

  • Facilitate secure remote access to application

  • Encrypt sensitive traffic over public networks

  • Encrypt internal administrative access

Menu Profiling http://nbsystems.com/blog/2008/01/16/menu-profiling/ http://nbsystems.com/blog/2008/01/16/menu-profiling/#comments Wed, 16 Jan 2008 21:59:21 +0000 BP http://nbsystems.com/blog/2008/01/16/menu-profiling/ A underused feature in Digital Dining is Menu Profiling.  The system can be programmed to look for items that you want to sell (for example) at lunch.  If the order does not contain a salad (example), when the check is printed a coupon is also printed for a free or dollar discounted or % off salad on the next visit…expiring in one or two weeks.  At dinner the item(s) can change.

NBS/Digital Dining…helping our customers drive sales and make more money.

Digital Dining Version 7.3 http://nbsystems.com/blog/2008/01/14/digital-dining-version-73/ http://nbsystems.com/blog/2008/01/14/digital-dining-version-73/#comments Mon, 14 Jan 2008 19:22:22 +0000 Administrator http://nbsystems.com/blog/2008/01/14/digital-dining-version-73/ As of 1/14/2008 Digital Dining version 7.3 is the current version of the product. and I don’t see that changing for quite awhile. Maybe 6 months or more? Ver. 7.3 has many new features added not found in Ver. 7.2

Most important is 7.3 is Visa/Mastercard PCI compliant when using High Speed Credit Card interface. If you process credit cards via an inter-net connection you need this upgrade with the proper release # to make sure you are up to date!
